I think baseball lovers will like ALL kinds of baseball books — and I’m putting the one above on my list, by the way. Pinch Hitter is great fun, the story of a middle aged guy (a salesman, no less) who gets to live out every boy’s fantasy of playing in the Big Show for his hometown team. There’s a back story involving the man’s older brother, which really makes it poignant. Part of this had me in tears — so keep the Kleenex handy. I just couldn’t put this one down.
